Este caso cuestiona el intento de Carolina del Sur de limitar la libertad de elecci\u00f3n de las personas al elegir Planned Parenthood como proveedor de atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica. La pol\u00edtica actual impide que las personas con seguro de Medicaid accedan a pruebas de ITS, ex\u00e1menes de detecci\u00f3n de c\u00e1ncer y otros servicios esenciales.\u00a0<\/li><li>\u00a0Es fundamental destacar que la pol\u00edtica en discusi\u00f3n afecta principalmente a las personas de bajos ingresos y a las personas de color. En Carolina del Sur, Medicaid cubre a 1 de cada 5 personas, y el 631% de los beneficiarios son mujeres. Adem\u00e1s, el 581% de los habitantes de Carolina del Sur se identifican como no blancos.
