Este proyecto de ley crea barreras innecesarias y potencialmente mortales para la atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica de los j\u00f3venes de Florida, incluyendo la terapia de salud mental en situaciones de crisis, al impedir el acceso a los menores que no cuentan con el permiso de sus padres.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Declaraci\u00f3n de Cheyenne Drews, directora del Programa de Libertad Reproductiva de Progress Florida:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cEsta legislaci\u00f3n imprudente abandona las mejores pr\u00e1cticas basadas en la evidencia y representa una peligrosa amenaza para los j\u00f3venes de Florida y su futuro. De aprobarse, este proyecto de ley impedir\u00eda que los menores accedan a servicios de salud mental que podr\u00edan salvarles la vida si sus padres no dan su consentimiento.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cImaginen a un adolescente que, en plena crisis, contacta con valent\u00eda a una l\u00ednea de atenci\u00f3n de salud mental y le cuelgan. El suicidio es una de las principales causas de muerte entre los j\u00f3venes. Quienes no pueden involucrar a sus padres en estas decisiones personales de forma c\u00f3moda o segura merecen m\u00e1s apoyo, no ser abandonados.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cSe aprob\u00f3 una legislaci\u00f3n similar en Idaho en 2024 y los resultados han sido tan catastr\u00f3ficos que los patrocinadores del proyecto de ley han admitido que se necesitan cambios.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cTan solo en el primer a\u00f1o de vigencia de la ley de Idaho, m\u00e1s de 1500 personas de entre cinco y 17 a\u00f1os llamaron a la L\u00ednea Directa de Crisis y Suicidio del estado. Cuando se les dijo que tendr\u00edan que poner a sus padres al tel\u00e9fono para recibir ayuda, la mayor\u00eda colg\u00f3. Es inadmisible que los pol\u00edticos abandonen a los j\u00f3venes floridanos en su momento de crisis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAdem\u00e1s de quedar excluido de los recursos de salud mental en situaciones de crisis, bajo este proyecto de ley, a un adolescente se le podr\u00eda negar el tratamiento para una ETS que podr\u00eda provocar c\u00e1ncer, reducci\u00f3n de las funciones motoras, infertilidad e incluso la muerte.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cLa mayor\u00eda de los padres desean, con raz\u00f3n, participar en la vida de sus hijos adolescentes, pero cuando eso no es posible, la seguridad debe ser lo primero.
