Abortion referendum matters, no matter the cost
By Charles Lang Orlando, Orlando Sentinel
I read with interest the view about Amendment 4 and the need for adjustment (“Revised ‘statement’ on Florida abortion referendum called ‘dirty trick to mislead voters,’” July 16). The concern seemed to be, if passed, a number of lawsuits would occur and cost the state of Florida. Yes, this will probably happen. But I am a fiscal conservative…As a retired teacher, I’m asking all parties to really ponder the expense of unwanted children. Too often what we have learned from history is that we have learned nothing from history.

An Amendment 4 trick

John Labriola’s misinformation on Amendment 4
By Eileen Schweitzer, Citrus County Chronicle
I am deeply concerned about John Labriola, who represents the Christian Family Coalition…He is quoted as saying that Amendment 4 “allows doctors to perform abortions after a child is born.” No sir, you are wrong. It is a physical impossibility to abort a child after it is born. Terminating the life of a child after it is born is called murder under the laws here in the United States. If you are going to talk about abortion, especially in a public forum, you should get your facts straight and stop spreading misinformation.
