Reproductive Rights News Roundup – May 9th 2025

This year, we faced attacks on health care from all directions in the legislature. We saw attempts to limit minors’ access to STI treatment, birth control, and even suicide prevention services, an attempt to rewrite the law to treat embryos the same as living children, putting emergency care, abortion, and IVF in jeopardy, and efforts to indoctrinate students with anti-abortion propaganda while defunding their ability to get involved in political and social activism.
We fought these attacks in coalition with one another, from in-person testimony to social media activism, grassroots calls, emails, and in-district actions, we made our voices heard. And it worked.
This legislative session, we successfully prevented EVERY anti-reproductive freedom and anti-LGBTQ+ bill from passing.
Right here in Florida, with leadership from so many of you reading this, we held the line and told lawmakers: the people of Florida should have the freedom to make decisions about our bodies, families, and futures, without interference from politicians.
Thank you for being part of this worthy fight and sharing in these victories.
