Reproductive Rights News Roundup – March 6, 2026

We are one week out from what should be the end of Legislative Session, but many signs point towards an extension.

While we’ve been able to stop the overwhelming majority of the bills we’re concerned about, anything could happen, and we need all hands on deck to stop these key bills set for final votes soon:

HB 1471 / SB 1632, Outlawing Activism: This has already passed the House and the Senate, but they voted on different versions, so it’s going back to the House for another debate and vote. This gives us another opportunity to ask lawmakers to oppose this dangerous bill!

  • This bill creates a vague, new designation of “domestic terrorist organization” for organizations engaging in allegedly dangerous activities intended to “coerce” the public or influence government policy “by intimidation or coercion.” This kind of unfettered censorship strikes at the core of our democracy and is a clear attempt from extremists to wrongfully hold onto political power.
  • Check out these action pages and share widely to defend our rights to free speech and protest:

HB 1001 / SB 1134, Anti-Diversity in Local Governments: This passed the Senate and is temporarily postponed on the House floor, meaning this could make it to the Governor’s desk SOON if we don’t act.

  • This bill could effectively ban local governments from a range of actions like hosting or supporting Pride events, offering LGBTQ+ cultural competency trainings, and recognizing cultural events, violating our freedoms and costing our state and small businesses millions in revenue.
  • Take action here.

HB 991 / SB 1334, New Barriers to Voting passed the House floor and could soon be facing its final vote in the Senate.
