This Legislative Session, we’re sending a clear message: politicians are never more qualified to make health care decisions for us than we are.
Decisions about abortion must remain in the hands of patients and those they choose to involve, not politicians. But Florida politicians have banned abortion before many people even realize they are pregnant, and that’s not all: they continue to propose laws that could ban all abortions and put access to contraception and common fertility treatments at risk.
Help us hold the line by opposing these anti-freedom bills:
- SB 1288: The bill Stopping Young People from Accessing Health Care
- Attempts to restrict the freedom of young people to access birth control, family planning, and risk assessment surveys for topics like abuse and mental health struggles.

- SB 1284: The bill to Further Criminalize Health Care
- We’ve seen the harm of laws like this in other states, where they’ve been used to try to ban abortion entirely, shut down fertility treatments like IVF, harass survivors of abuse and their support systems, and put patients at risk of losing emergency care or cancer treatments solely because they’re pregnant.

- HB 1255: The bill to Push Indoctrination in Public Schools
- This bill requires students to view a misleading, medically inaccurate video on fetal development, similar to the “Baby Olivia” bill being pushed across the country by the anti-abortion extremist group Live Action. It also bars state dollars from being used to push “social activism” in schools.

- HB 1205: Attacks on Citizen-Led Amendments
- Florida’s citizen-led amendments are an essential part of direct democracy that empower voters to pass people-centered policies to improve our lives and strengthen our communities. We should be doing all we can to strengthen this process, not make it harder, yet this legislation attempts to make it near-impossible for citizens to bring amendments to the ballot.

- SB 420: Anti-Diversity in Local Governments
- This is an outrageous overreach by the state, silencing local governments from representing and legislating their values. This could ban Pride Month or Black History Month resolutions, or having a local commission on women’s issues.

- SB 440: The Don’t Say Gay or Trans at Work Bill
- This proposes state regulation of pronouns in public and certain private workplaces. It would shield employees from accountability for anti-trans intentional misgendering, and it would prohibit job applicants from even identifying as transgender or non-binary on a job application. The bill also attempts to prohibit LGBTQ-related cultural competency training requirements for government workers and certain private companies.
