Last night, the U.S. Supreme Court blocked an attempt to ban the distribution of mifepristone, an abortion medication, through telehealth and the mail. This is a huge relief for patients across the country who rely on access to this essential healthcare.
Threats to medication abortion are far from neutralized, and this case isn’t over: from a sham review of safety (spoiler alert: medication abortion is safe, effective, and backed by years of science) to state-level attempts to test wastewater for traces of the medication (yes, we’re serious), anti-abortion extremists are trying everything to block access.
Politicians and judges have no right to interfere with our decisions about our bodies, families, and futures. That’s why, whether the headlines are amplifying good news, bad news, or just temporary relief, we’re not wavering in this fight.
