Happy Black Maternal Health Week! This year’s theme is “Rooted in Justice and Joy”, marking the 10th anniversary of the celebration founded by the Black Mamas Matter Alliance.
Black Mamas have always been at the forefront of movements for justice, bridging families, communities, and change.
This year, we celebrate the leadership and expertise of Black community-based organizations as the foundation for advancing equity and ensuring transformative, sustainable improvements in Black Maternal Health.
Justice calls for accountability, systems change, and respect for Black birthing experiences, while joy centers rest, healing, cultural affirmation, and the right to thrive.
How can you participate? Together, justice and joy shape a liberated future where Black Mamas, families, and communities are supported, protected, and valued.
