Over the past few weeks, feminism and girlhood have taken center-stage.
At the Daisy Chain Fields Festival, $20 million was raised for reproductive rights organizations as a multigenerational crowd of values-aligned, joy-seeking fans celebrated music and one another. As journalist Jessica Valenti reported, “We could relax at Daisy Chain, because for just one day our humanity wasn’t up for debate.”
Just weeks apart, we honored the legacies and losses of Dolly Parton, Gloria Steinem, and Yayoi Kusama. Just like each of us, showing up with our stories, imperfections, and commitments to grow, they reminded us of the worthiness of our own voices and the power of solidarity.

As we approach a long holiday weekend, we’re reflecting on our early feminist heroes who inspired us, past or present, famous or personal, and invite you to do the same.
Share with us here who has shaped you, your politics, or your values.

Call to Action:
Broward County’s Menstrual Equity Campaign
|
For the last year, largely youth-led organizations have fought hard to get period products in school restrooms. In less than a month, a pilot program will be introduced in the Broward County school board meeting and we need your help to get it across the finish line (and hopefully expanded across the state in the future)!
- Sign up to testify in-person on Sept. 15th in Ft. Lauderdale.
- Send an email urging Broward County School Board Members to support this program. Then, forward the link to your South Florida friends!
Shoutout to Prism, Youth Action Fund, and Promote Her, Period for their incredible leadership!
